Abstract formulation of an age-physiology dependent population dynamics problem

Abstract

We transform a population dynamics problem with anadditional structure into an abstract Cauchy problem, and usefunctional analytic method to solve it. Instead of using thefamiliar theory of resolvent, we rather replace the condition ofwell-posedness by its equivalent form in order to prove theexistence of a unique weak solution. An {ıt a priori} estimate ofthe solution is also given as well as the perturbation about theequilibrium point, and by a boundedlinear operator.
